The Diamondbacks will have two representatives at the Midsummer Classic, with Corbin Carroll and Eduardo Rodriguez earning selections. Still, many fans were convinced Marte had done enough during the first half to deserve another All-Star nod.
Ketel Marte better be someone’s replacement.

The three-time All-Star has had an eventful 2026 season, though his offensive production hasn’t quite reached the standard he’s showcased in recent years. Through the first half, Marte is batting .267 with 17 home runs, 54 RBIs and an .806 OPS.
While the power and run production remain among the best at his position, his batting average and on-base production are down from his career norms, making this one of his less complete offensive seasons despite remaining a key contributor.
However, a case could be made for Marte extends beyond the traditional stat line.

The second baseman’s value has come from more than just home runs and RBIs, but also delivering timely hits and providing steady defense at second base. Those are the types of contributions that don’t always show up in league-wide comparisons but become much more apparent to those who watch the Diamondbacks daily.
While Marte’s numbers may not have been as eye-catching as those of some of the NL’s other All-Star selections, many fans believe his all-around impact once again made him one of the D-Backs’ most valuable players, fueling the belief that he was snubbed from heading to the All-Star Game for a third season in a row.
