GLENDALE – After months of the Arizona Cardinals’ desire to trade quarterback Kyler Murray filling every news headline, the two-time Pro Bowler finally makes his stance clear. Fox Sports’ Ralphh Vacchiano and Henry McKenna reported on Wednesday that Murray’s camp would prefer if the franchise cut him, allowing the 28-year-old to enter free agency and pick his team.

Fox Sports on Murray’s preference:

“Murray’s camp would prefer the Cardinals cut him, so the quarterback can enter free agency, per a league source. The QB’s camp is set to meet with the team this week in Indianapolis, but they don’t expect an answer on his future from Arizona.

Murray’s camp feels that he’ll be the top QB on the market if he hits free agency. Certainly, the 28-year-old will be among the most sought-after quarterbacks in free agency alongside Malik Willis.”

Arizona has grown “frustrated” with Murray, which seems a little unfair given the circumstances. Since being drafted first overall in 2019, Murray has been a constant for the franchise. He has undergone two different coaches, a torn ACL, recurring questions about his leaderships from the front office but rarely ever from his teammates to the media.

Seven years of no complaints with the Cardinals, and he loses the starting job because of injury and is silently benched when the team’s game on national television in his home state of Texas. Arizona can’t be shocked he wants out.

A source told Fox Sports that Murray’s mobility is “shot,” and he won’t be the same player because of recent injuries. The breakup is getting messy between the two sides, going to the media and bashing one another.
