It didn’t take long for the All-Star second baseman to make an impact in the club’s first game of a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants. Marte sent a 92.3 mph fastball to right field, giving the Diamondbacks an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Beyond providing the early advantage, the home run also moved Marte up in club history.
Marte tied former D-Back first baseman Paul Goldschmidt for the second-most hits in franchise history with 1,182. He now trails only franchise legend Luis Gonzalez, who sits atop the list with 1,337.

Moving into a tie for second on the franchise hits list reflects the consistency Marte has displayed throughout his career in Arizona. Since arriving in Phoenix from Seattle, the All-Star has consistently delivered timely hits while providing both power and contact at the plate.
The milestone is another reminder of Marte’s place among the franchise’s all-time greats. He has been a fixture in Arizona’s lineup for nearly a decade and has played a central role in some of the club’s most successful seasons.

As he continues to climb the record books, Marte is strengthening a legacy that could one day see him stand alone among the greatest players to ever wear an Arizona uniform.
