GLENDALE – In his first chance to talk to the media this offseason, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. revealed plenty about the relationship, or lack there of, with quarterback Jacoby Brissett. The franchise’s drama this Summer has been Brissett holding out for a new deal, leading him to missing OTAs and likely minicamp. Even after a 1-11 2025 campaign, the 33-year-old had his best statistical season and wants to get paid.

When asked if him and Brissett had build up a rapport this Summer, the third-year Cardinals wide receiver was blunt with his answer.

Brissett’s absence having an effect this offseason:
The 23-year-old ended his sentiment with that he understands why his quarterback is looking to get the best deal for himself. However, Brissett’s absence is starting to have an effect on his teammates, as Harrison hasn’t been able to build a connection to the reported starter for 2026, at least that is what Arizona told the 10-year pro back in March.

Despite Brissett starting 12 games last season, Harrison only played in seven of them, with two games playing less than 20 snaps. For reference, Harrison played just two more snaps with Brissett than he did with Kyler Murray in 2025, who was out since Week 5. The duo don’t have any real chemistry, which is what makes OTAs and minicamp so important. However, the veteran is still absent.

Harrison did later call rookie quarterback Carson Beck a “baller,” highlighting the third-round pick’s confidence. Beck and Garner Minshew have each taken the mantle of sharing first team reps to play with Harrison. In a crucial Year 3 for the young wideout, not having the projected starter in practice is tough mental to prepare for next season. The absence adds another hurdle for Harrison, who is battling injuries, expectations and now a missing quarterback in 2026.
