Veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett, currently projected as the Cardinals’ starter, has been absent from voluntary workouts while seeking a contract extension and salary increase. Brissett’s reputation around the league is well established. He is dependable, experienced, and capable of stabilizing an offense. But stability is not always what rebuilding fan bases crave. Cards supporters have lived through transitional football many times, and fans appear emotionally exhausted by their past answers at quarterback. Beck, meanwhile, offers intrigue.
