SCOTTSDALE — Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks was arrested early Friday morning in Scottsdale on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to TMZ.

Authorities arrested Brooks around 2 a.m. and released him from custody roughly an hour later after he was booked. Officials said Brooks was cooperative with officers, and additional details about the incident have not yet been released.
The arrest comes as the forward is already sidelined with a fractured hand he suffered late last month. Before the injury, Brooks was having one of the most productive seasons of his NBA career, averaging 20.9 points per game for Phoenix.

Brooks has become a tone-setter for the Suns since arriving in the desert as part of a trade involving Kevin Durant. He has emerged as one of the team’s most important pieces and has helped Phoenix exceed many preseason expectations.
The Suns are currently in the midst of a tightly contested playoff race in the Western Conference, and Brooks’ injury has already tested the team’s depth. Phoenix is 35-27 after falling to the Chicago Bulls, 105-103, on Thursday.

“We are aware of the situation involving Dillon Brooks and are gathering more information,” the team said in a statement, according to Arizona Central’s Duane Rankin. “We have no further comment at this time.”
Whether the incident will result in additional missed time for Brooks due to potential discipline from the NBA or the Suns remains unclear.
