For Suns fans, the frustration is twofold. Locally, it’s about momentum. Nationally, it’s about perception. Phoenix has built its identity around elite shot-making and late-game execution. When Booker is unavailable, that identity feels fragile. There’s also a psychological edge. Teams defend the Suns differently when Booker plays with traps, blitzes, and shaded help. Strategically, this game raises the question of whether Phoenix is Phoenix deep enough to absorb a Booker absence. Championship teams survive injuries because their system travels.
