The Suns have won four games in a row, defeating the Washington Wizards on Dec. 29 to improve to 19-13 on the season. Now, Phoenix is no longer being held to preseason expectations but instead evolving beyond them and commanding attention from around the league.

Ishbia took to X to share his thoughts on the team’s success, reposting a Suns post that highlighted how the team has carried itself throughout the season.

Ishbia isn’t the only NBA leader taking notice.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst recounted a conversation with a league general manager who admitted they once assumed games against the Suns would be easy. Now, it’s the complete opposite.

This turnaround hasn’t been an accident. Led by Valley veteran Devin Booker, the team has learned to adapt and cancel out the noise. With victories against established contenders such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors, the Suns have shown they can grit out wins against anyone.

Ishbia’s comments highlight the belief he’s had in the team all season long. While analysts predicted a down year for this rebuilt roster, the Suns have defied expectations. Ishbia continued to believe despite those predictions and the Suns have backed that belief with their play.

It’s rare for an owner to be this vocal about their team, but the message hits close to home for the Phoenix faithful. With a passionate fan base that has endured plenty of ups and downs in recent years, having an owner who is openly proud and supportive, even before the season began, resonates deeply within the community.

Now, it’s not just Ishbia and fans who are taking notice.

The Suns are carefully crafting a new identity and taking pride in the work they’ve done to this point. As players continue to return from injury and the season moves forward, Phoenix has a chance to keep defying critics, knowing leadership is firmly behind them.

The Suns now look ahead to New Year’s Eve, aiming to close out 2025 on a high note as they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Dec. 31 at 1:30 p.m.
