NEW ORLEANS — Since signing with the Phoenix Suns in late November, guard Jamaree Bouyea has become a steady presence and is making an impact.

When Bouyea signed a two-way deal with the team, he was viewed as a developmental depth piece as the Suns battled through injuries. Now, he is turning in complete performances and making every minute played meaningful.
In Phoenix’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Dec. 27, he had 12 points and three rebounds, going 5-for-6 from the field and a perfect 2-for-2 beyond the arc in 12 minutes.

Bouyea’s emergence has served as an important solution to the team’s injury issues. His experience around the league, including the G League, has shaped him into a versatile player who allows key players to rest while continuing to compete at a high level.
So far this season, the guard has averaged 7.2 points (a career high), 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 56.9% from the field, the second-best mark of his career.
The rise has resonated with Suns fans, who value effort just as much as production, as the team has exceeded preseason expectations. Bouyea represents a different approach to the game, earning his minutes in a rotation role through consistency.

In some ways, Bouyea represents the new Phoenix identity — a team that plays hard, never gives up and takes on any challenge presented its way. The Suns are making noise and proving doubters wrong and the guard is helping make that happen in his own way by being a dependable two-way player.

He may not be grabbing headlines like Devin Booker or Dillon Brooks, but Bouyea is providing something just as valuable to a Suns team that needs it.
