Perdomo entered the Águilas lineup on Dec. 19, playing his usual position at shortstop. With veteran major league experience, his presence provides a significant boost to a roster seeking momentum late in the season.
In his first game, Perdomo went 2-for-2 with two walks and a double. In his second appearance, he went 1-for-4 with an RBI. He has also begun testing a new batting stance from the right side, according to X user @dbacksprospectz.
Off-Topic:
It appears that Geraldo Perdomo is doing a different setup from the right side of the plate. It looks somewhat similar to some swings he had in 2025, though.

Winter league teams often add reinforcements ahead of playoff play and Perdomo’s skill set fits that role. A switch-hitter known for his on-base ability and plate discipline, he gives the Águilas added balance in the lineup. While the club looks for the same production from his time in the desert, the shortstop is also using winter ball to maintain conditioning and rhythm.
After a breakout 2025 season, Perdomo appears focused on carrying that production into next year. Playing in the Dominican Winter League allows him to gain game reps in a competitive but less demanding environment than the major leagues.

Perdomo is also preparing to represent the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic, announcing his participation in early December. In addition to staying sharp for the Diamondbacks ahead of the MLB season, he is using winter ball as preparation for one of international baseball’s biggest stages.
As the Águilas continue their playoff push, Perdomo showcases his desire to stay competitive even away from the major leagues.
