GLENDALE – The latest news surrounding Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, while not shocking, is a solemn day for the franchise. The former 2019 first overall pick is not going to play another snap this season and maybe not another for Arizona in general. Many fans are taking the news to remincist about the two-time Pro Bowler, while Murray’s teammates are talking about the blow of losing their starter for the rest of the season.

WR Michael Wilson on losing Murray for the year:

Murray and Wilson have been teammates for three years and had plenty of summer workouts to get to know each other and grow a close pair. During that same timeframe, head coach Jonathan Gannon came into the franchise, where his relationship with Murray has become complicated. When Gannon announced the news on Friday and his reaction, it was an interesting statement to his QB.

In the short 13-second excerpt, Gannon stated he just felt bad for “the quarterback,” not even calling Murray by his name. It might be a clear indicator of the end of the seven-year partnership between Murray and the Cardinals, with the coach giving him a pat on the back and holding the door open for him.

Gannon is known for his mellow personality, but even fans found his words quite bland for a team captain. Murray teammates respect him, and the same can be said for a majority of fans that have worn his jersey for the past seven years.
