Perdomo received three second-place votes, seven third-place votes and 11 fourth-place votes, with 196 votes total. He wasn’t a finalist, but the support he earned reflects both his season and the player he is becoming. With steady production and growing maturity shaping him into a core leader, the 26-year-old has set new standards for himself.
The Diamondbacks shortstop posted career highs in on-base percentage (.389), hits (173), OPS (.851), home runs (20) and RBIs (100), and continued to showcase his defensive ability during the team’s late-season push.

Fans have been with Perdomo along the way. Arriving as an international prospect, he has grown into one of the league’s most consistent contributors, and the Valley has watched his confidence flourish in tough game situations.
Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte, who have each posted proven seasons of their own, received MVP votes as well, but none came close to Perdomo’s total. That reflects not only how far the shortstop has come, but the attention he is earning with his play. He is growing into a star and people beyond Arizona are taking notice.

Whether it was his plate discipline or clutch late-inning rallies, Perdomo put together a season to remember and one to build on. He didn’t win the MVP, but he was undeniably valuable to a team battling injuries and bad luck.
For Perdomo, the goal now is to build on the foundation he has laid and help push the Diamondbacks toward a postseason run next year.
