GLENDALE – Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. had one of the worst first half a player can have in an NFL game. Constant miscommunications between Harrison and quarterback Kyler Murray led to balls sailing out of bounds or in the dirt. The second-year wide receiver was directly responsibility for each of Murray’s interceptions vs. the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football.

In the first quarter, Harrison inexplicably stopped running the route, which allowed Murray’s pass to sail right into the arms of cornerback Coby Bryant. The following quarter, the two-time Pro Bowler finds Harrison on a slant route and places the ball right into his hands. However, the 23-year-old juggles the ball and allows Ernest Jones to snaps the interception.

The former fourth overall pick ended the first half with one catch for eight yards, which he recorded on the first play of scrimmage. Fans on social media and Amazon Prime analyst Kirk Herbsstreit seemed very concerned and confused by Harrison’s struggles.

That was until the second half, where Harrison had one of the best stretches of his career. He caught five balls for 58 yards and a touchdown, with one of the best cornerbacks in the game, Devon Witherspoon, draping over him.

Harrison touchdown grab vs. Seahawks:

Harrison had 10 targets in Thursday’s game, the most this season. Throughout the week leading up to Week 4, Murray and head coach Jonathan Gannon has talked about how Harrison will be fine, and he just needs time to develop. Despite the confidence, Harrison seemed to not have it at all in the first half, with Prime cameras catching the young wideout clearly distraught with his play in the first half.

After that touchdown catch, Harrison took a moment on his knee to look down, almost a sigh of relief for him to finally bring one down. The touchdown grab seemed to awake the Cardinals offense, as they proceed to score 14 unanswered points to almost comeback, but fall short to a last-second field goal.

The slow start was very alarming for fans of Harrison, but as the game progress, he seemed to finally find his groove in this offense.
