Who else but Geraldo Perdomo? Yesterday, MLB.com and their experts had Perdomo in the top five for MVP voting, coming in at fourth alongside Paul Skenes, Juan Soto, Kyle Schwarber, and Shohei Ohtani. Perdomo has been the heartbeat for the Diamondbacks this season and has given them another huge chance at life.

The D-Backs being able to capitalize on winning a game that Shohei Ohtani was a starting pitcher in, is one thing. Although beating their rival at home in a crucial moment on the back of their newest superstar is another.

With the New York Mets winning and the Cincinnati Reds losing to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night, the D-Backs are now tied with the Reds, sitting only one game behind the NL Wild Card spot, and now have all the momentum in the world to make a final push for that spot.
