A lot of the Suns players and front office were on hand for the first summer league game of the season. Included in that were two of the newest members who have landed on the Suns roster as a part of the recent blockbuster trade that sent star Kevin Durant to the Rockets. Brooks decided to talk with the press on the side during the game, and when interacting with the media, Suns shooting guard Jalen Green came up to ask Brooks a couple of questions. Green, with a smile on his face, asked, “How do you feel about the trade, and what do you think we are about to do with the Phoenix Suns?” (Credit: Duane Rankin | AZ Central)

Dillon Brooks responding to Jalen Green’s comment:
“I love the trade, it gives me and Jalen an opportunity to showcase us in Phoenix.” During the middle of his answer, Green jokingly coughed and added his two cents, saying, “motivation, motivation.” Brooks then continued and expanded on his point by adding, “For you, yeah especially when we play Houston it’s going to be a lot of motivation for you. I’m happy we both came together.” (Credit: Duane Rankin | AZ Central)
Jalen Green asked Dillon Brooks about the historic 7-team trade as the Houston Rockets dealt them to Phoenix Suns in acquiring Kevin Durant.

It seems like the chemistry between Brooks and Green is there, and is growing in this shared experience of a new start in The Valley of the Sun. The newest members of the Suns seem to be excited to see where this franchise is heading, as their presence at the NBA Summer League speaks volumes. Although it’s a while until the start of the 2025-2026 NBA season, these two might just have some matchups on their mind, and circled on the calendar already for next season.
