Phoenix Mercury jump two spots in ESPN’s Power Rankings

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Mercury have surged in ESPN’s Power Rankings after their latest road trip and sit at No. 2 overall — previously No. 4.

The Mercury completed its road trip over the weekend undefeated, extending its win streak to five games. ESPN credited the team’s rookie group for making contributions, highlighting Monique Akoa Makani, Kathryn Westbeld and Kitija Laksa.

Phoenix is ranked higher than the defending WNBA Champions, the New York Liberty, who are No. 3. The Minnesota Lynx are the only team ranked higher than the Mercury at No. 1.
