Former Mercury player Natasha Cloud goes viral for dancing to K-pop song

NEW YORK — Former Phoenix Mercury player Natasha Cloud went viral after she danced to TWICE member Nayeon’s “POP!” during a New York Liberty and Golden State Valkyries game on May 27.

In a video posted by X user @goodluckkat, formerly known as Twitter, Cloud is seen on the big screen dancing to the viral K-pop song, laughing with teammates. The video went viral among the K-pop community and ONCES (TWICE’s fandom name).

“Natasha Cloud and Twice, my agenda is working,” one user said.

“POP POP POP at the WNBA!!!” another user said.

The video has over 6,700 views from its original poster and over 194,000 views from reposts.

Cloud played for the Mercury in 2024 before being traded to the Connecticut Sun in February, and then traded to New York in March. During her time in the desert, she averaged 11.5 points, shooting 39.7% from the paint and 30.8% from three.
