GLENDALE – The NFL released multiple special matchups ahead of the full schedule reveal on Wednesday. The league started by announcing the Philadelphia Eagles will open the 2025 season against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1, as well as all the international games for next season. The seven matchups over the first 11 weeks of the season will not include the Arizona Cardinals, who are left off for a third straight season.

The last time the Cardinals played internationally was against the San Francisco 49ers in 2022 at Mexico City. Arizona got smoked 38-10 by San Francisco, as quarterback Kyler Murray was dealing with an injury. The franchise hasn’t won an international game since back in 2005 in Mexico City against the 49ers, as the team struggles to play outside of the United States.
Being left off the list for international games could be a blessing in disguise for the Cardinals. However, if the franchise makes the jump that many experts believe it will after a stellar offseason, then the league might have no choice but to showcase this Arizona team to the world in the future.
