The D-Backs are coming off of back-to-back extra-inning losses, as their record is now 14-11 on the season. The Atlanta Braves come into this series winning five of their last six games, as the Braves swept the Minnesota Twins and took two out of three over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Friday night’s starting pitchers:
Arizona will be riding with Zac Gallen on Friday night. Gallens’ last outing didn’t fare so well, as he gave up six earned runs on seven hits in Chicago against the Cubs. After what has been a rollercoaster start of a season so far for Gallen, he will now look to get back on track against Atlanta. Gallen has a 2-1 record with a 3.19 ERA in his five starts against the Braves.

Chris Sale will be making the start for Atlanta today, as he enters this game with a 0-2 record and a lackluster 6.17 ERA. He has had frustrating starts to begin the season, as he hasn’t gotten past the fifth inning in any start this season. His last outing against Minnesota he went pitched 4.1 innings and gave up two earned runs on six hits.

The D-Backs will look to Corbin Carroll, Geraldo Perdomo, Josh Naylor, and Pavin Smith to keep up the consistency at the plate. Though they will need some help from the back half of the lineup and strong bullpen pitching if they want to contend with this surging Braves team. The first pitch tonight at Chase Field is at 6:40 p.m. MST, and will be followed by Country Night postgame fireworks presented by SeatGeek!
