After an incredible and suspenseful victory in the U.S. Open Cup against FC Tulsa, there is only one way up for the rising, and that’s in the standings.

Phoenix comes into this game with a positive outlook, knowing their chemistry is only growing and the results will come. Even though the Rising have stumbled off to start the season with a 1-2-3 record, there is no panic with this squad, more of a cool calm, and collected approach knowing time will be on their side. Midfielder Emil Cuello spoke on how the season has gone so far in that aspect:
“Honestly, I’m disappointed in the results we’re having because it doesn’t reflect the level we have in the locker room and on the field, It’s a good environment compared to other teams I have been on… That’s why I’m excited to turn things around.”

Both Phoenix and Sacramento come into today’s match having just won their U.S. Open Cup Matches. Last season the Rising had a 1-1 draw at home and a 2-0 road loss to Sacramento. Although that’s one of the only two losses the Rising has suffered to Sacramento since 2018.
Can the Rising get their second win of the 2025 USL Championship season? Kickoff is today at 1:00 p.m. PT over at Phoenix Rising Stadium in Phoenix, AZ.
