Pavin Smith, who some were unsure about heading into the season, has been on a tear for this Diamondbacks ball club. Smith continued his hot streak as he hit his second home run of the 2025 season in the first inning and added another RBI in the third. Smith bombed a 429-foot home run into center field as he helped lead the D-Backs to their first sweep of the season as the Snakes won 6-2 over the Marlins.

In both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Smith began his campaign by being optioned to Triple-A Reno. This season has been a completely different story, and looking at his body of work, it’s no wonder that he now has been a massive piece for this D-Backs offense. Smith so far in the 2025 season is hitting a .404 batting average, a .491 OBP, and a 1.236 OPS after Thursday’s matchup. In the last 10 games, Smith is boasting a .467 average alongside three home runs, six RBIs, and four doubles.
His plate discipline has been a huge factor in his rise for the Snakes, he seeks out the pitches inside the zone which makes it difficult for opposing pitchers to find a way to get him out. Smith will look to continue his hot streak against the Chicago Cubs this weekend at Wrigley Field.
