As the final week of the 2024–25 NBA regular season wraps up, the Phoenix Suns come in at No. 21 in the power rankings. The Suns had an overwhelming close to the season, facing several challenges including the injury of star player Kevin Durant. Durant missed seven games, and the overall inconsistency in team performance has been directly reflected in their current standing.

The Suns hold a 35–44 record, having recently dropped from No. 20 to No. 21 in the rankings. This shift highlights the impact of key injuries and inconsistent play. It marks the first time Phoenix has missed the play-in and playoffs since the 2019–20 season.

In addition to Durant’s absence, the Suns were without Bradley Beal for approximately 28 games due to injury. The recent loss to the Boston Celtics on Friday pushed the team below .500—a milestone they haven’t reached since 2020.

Phoenix will finish out the regular season with two games: an April 11 home matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, and the April 13 finale against the Sacramento Kings.

Despite the setbacks, the Suns have shown resilience. Their ranking still reflects a talented roster that battled through adversity. Looking ahead, a healthier lineup could give Phoenix the chance to rebound with a stronger postseason and a brighter outlook for the seasons to come.
