Ever since the second rounder was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2022, McBride has put the league on notice as being one of the best tight ends in all of the NFL. He is now being compensated as such.

General Manager Monti Ossenfort is putting his chips on the right numbers, as he gets another extension done with a face of the franchise. Earlier, Ossenfort helped extend the contracts of Budda Baker and James Connor. The Cardinals have been showing that loyalty does mean something to this culture, with this still relatively new front office.
McBride has started for the Arizona Cardinals in 38 games, and has hauled in 199 catches for four receiving touchdowns and 2,028 yards. This last season saw McBride take a massive step forward has he had 100 catches for over 1,000 yards, breaking a franchise record for catches in a single season.

Head Coach Jonathan Gannon spoke on the matter:
“He’s a huge playmaker for us. A lot of the passing game goes through him. The run game, he’s fantastic. … Every play he’s out there, he’s max effort and he’s an impact player. He really is. When the ball goes to him, he makes a bunch of plays.”
