As the new G affiliate of the Phoenix Suns, it ended its successful inaugural season, 20-14. The Suns now head on the road to Santa Cruz and will play against the Santa Cruz Warriors, G Affiliate of the Golden State Warriors, in a one-game elimination round. Head coach John Little told Cronkite News’ Jimmy Van Wickler he’s blessed with a great group.

“(It’s our) first year, a new organization, competing in the (Winter Showcase) Cup and now being involved in the playoffs,” Little said.

All eyes are on young stars TyTy Washington, who leads the team in scoring with 21.7, and Oso Ighodaro, who leads the team in rebound by 13.3, to make a lasting first impression in tonight’s game.

Collin Gillespie, who is 2nd in scoring with 19.7, will not participate in the G playoffs, as he is currently on the Phoenix Suns’ roster. With Bradely Beal out with a hamstring injury, Gillespie was brought up to fill his role. However, the energy is high, and Valley Suns’ fans are eager to see what the rest of the team can do.

The action starts at 7 p.m., with the game streaming on ESPNU.
