ASU football head coach Kenny Dillingham alongside four of his players have been invited over to celebrate the beginning of the baseball season by tossing the ceremonial first pitches. The four football players accompanying Dillingham are: Quarterback Sam Leavitt, wide reciever Jordan Tyson, defensive back Xavion Alford, and defensive lineman C.J. Fite. The Arizona State football program will get their moment in front of the D-Backs fans as well, as the Diamondbacks will honor their remarkable Big-12 Championship season.

Diamondbacks CEO and President commented, “Just thought it made a lot of sense. After they went to the Peach Bowl, the success they had with the Big 12, it was a no-brainer for us to bring our local team back out here and be able to showcase them.” The D-Backs front office has shown time and time again that they love partnering with other teams, and it’s fun to see the collaborations.

Arizona State football fans and Diamondbacks fans definitely have a lot in common more than just location. Both teams saw them recently make incredible playoff/postseason runs, when nobody thought it could be done. Hopefully Kenny Dillingham and the ASU football program can bring a little of their fire to the diamond, just in time for the season to start.
