PHOENIX –Every All-Star break, the question arises of how to make the game more interesting. Players don’t want to risk injury going full speed, which is understandable but has hurt the product on the court. NBA commissioner Adam Silver is trying a new four-team tournament this year with teams of 8 to try and help the game’s competitive edge. However, an idea proposed around the league is a potential one-on-one tournament that has piqued the interest of NBA fans and Phoenix Suns Kevin Durant.

At 6’10, the 15-time All-Star’s guard-like handles and deadly accuracy from the mid-range. He would be a tough cover for anyone. Durant is 36 years old, so facing some of the younger guys he mentioned, like Boston Celtics Jayson Tatum or San Antonio Victor Wembayama, would be a challenge.
However, Durant didn’t score 30,000 points on accident, and if the NBA did add a one-on-one tournament, it’s not hard to see why he would be an early favorite to win.
