Witnessing superstar Devin Booker exiting in the third quarter on Thursday against the Indiana Pacers, the Phoenix Suns have revealed the status of the injury he suffered and how long he’ll be out.

Via a press release, Phoenix released an update that Booker will not play against the Detroit Pistons tonight and the Denver Nuggets on Monday.

“Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will be out the next two games with left groin soreness. He will be re-evaluated early next week,” the team said.

Before Thursday, Booker had been healthy and started in all 26 games this year. Throughout his 10-year career in the NBA, he has never played a full 82-game season.

The four-time NBA All-Star is averaging 25.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.4 points so far amidst the vast amount of injuries to Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. Durant just returned from a left calf strain recently and Beal came back against the Pacers after missing two games with right knee swelling.

With one of their most important players out, the Suns will look at their options and see who can fill in the void. The most realistic option would be to move Beal to Booker’s shooting guard position, and Royce O’Neale to slot in as a small forward. Grayson Allen and Ryan Dunn are two players to watch to receive more playing time because of this new situation.

As for the rest of the team vs. Detroit, Phoenix will continue to be without two-way guard Collin Gillespie who is recovering from a right ankle fracture. Fan-favorite Bol Bol is questionable with a left knee contusion.

The Suns take on the Pistons at 7 p.m. MST inside Footprint Center.
