Dunn has impressed everyone watching throughout the preseason with his two-way ability and had his best performance so far in a 118-114 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.

Dunn, the No. 28 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft out of Virginia, finished tied with a team-high 20 points, shooting 7-for-15 from the floor and 6-for-11 from 3, also recording four rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals in 30 minutes against Denver. Dunn, a defensive standout who fell in the draft because of his lack of ability to shoot at Virginia, excited everyone with how pure his shot looked.

Dunn has shot 12-for-27 from 3 in Phoenix’s first four preseason games after shooting 7-for-35 in 34 games last season at Virginia and only making 12 3-pointers his entire collegiate career.

In this interview, Dunn discusses what he saw on film from Nuggets game, shooting 50 3-pointers as a team, learning NBA defense, Devin Booker, the physicality of the NBA, fine tuning his shot from college, the last time he made 6 3s in a game, hearing from his college teammates and being labeled as a 3-and-D player.

The Suns conclude the preseason at home on Thursday against the Lakers and begin the regular season on Oct. 23 on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers.
