Kliff Kingsbury made a statement with his new offense to Arizona Cardinals fans Sunday, leading the Washington Commanders to a 42-14 beatdown victory over his former team.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The Commanders (3-1) hired Kingsbury as their new offensive coordinator this summer after he spent one year in the college ranks with USC after being fired after four seasons as the Cardinals head coach in Jan. 2023.
Under Kingsbury, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and the rest of the Washington offense has been rolling, as they scored on seven of their nine drives in Arizona after not punting or turning the ball over the previous two games.
First-year Washington head coach Dan Quinn was more than happy to give the game ball to Kingsbury after the win, as the Commanders outgained the Cardinals 449-296 in total yards.
“There will be a number of game balls issued out I’m sure tomorrow, but there is one m———– that ain’t leaving this f—— city without one. KLIFF!” Quinn said.
After getting the ball, Kingsbury exclaimed, “Onto the f—— next!”

Arizona is still paying Kingsbury after firing him 10 months after he agreed to a contract extension through 2027. The Cardinals posted a 28-37-1 record overall with Kingsbury at the helm.
Former Cardinals and now Commanders tight end Zach Ertz, who had three catches for 22 yards and a two-point conversion, was delighted to see Kingsbury get the game ball.

Kingsbury is working wonders with Daniels, who completed 26-of-30 passes for 233 yards and had two total touchdowns, after he was a major factor in the Cardinals drafting Kyler Murray No. 1 overall at the onset of his Cardinals career. Kingsbury still has a lot of faith in Murray, who had 142 passing yards and a touchdown Sunday.
“At the end of last year, I thought you could see the confidence getting back in the knee as he made a bunch of plays and played really well, and he’s played great this season,” Kingsbury said earlier this week (via Arizona Sports). “They’re a couple plays away from being undefeated.”
“You see the speed, the quickness. The competitive nature is there. It’s been great to see the guy I basically banked my entire career on what he would be and I still believe in it. It’s cool to see him playing as well as he is.”

Kingsbury, Daniels and the Commanders will look to continue what they’ve been doing, while Murray and the Cardinals search for answers on what went wrong.
