While Corbin Carroll may not be replicating the breakout season of his rookie year, he’s steadily regaining his 2023 form. Carroll has now reached base safely in 28 consecutive games he started, setting a new Diamondbacks franchise record.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! This record-breaking streak began on July 3rd against the Dodgers, where he went 1-for-5 at the plate with an additional walk. Since then, the 2023 Rookie of the Year has raised his batting average from .210 to .221. His speed on the bases has also been a key factor, as he’s scored 41 runs during these 28 games.
The streak continued to 29 on Monday as Carroll drew a walk in the Diamondbacks 9-6 win over the Rays
More recently, Carroll has recorded a hit in each of his last 11 starts. His on-base percentage (OBP) now stands at .309 for the season, a significant improvement from .269 in mid-May.
In the first 92 games of the season, Carroll hit just three home runs. However, in his last 29 games, he has more than tripled that total with 10 homers. Remarkably, his last eight home runs have all come with at least one runner on base.
