In his first career at-bat with Arizona, on the very first pitch he saw, Bell, who was acquired by the Diamondbacks for cash at the deadline, smashed a 409-foot home run into right-center field, extending the Diamondbacks’ lead to 4-0 in their series opener against the Pirates. Notably, Bell played in Pittsburgh for the first five seasons of his career, where he hit a career-high 37 home runs in 2019.

Throughout his career, Bell has now hit 40 home runs at PNC Park, which far surpasses his total at any other stadium.

The Diamondbacks, following a rest day on Thursday, came out swinging against Pirates’ pitcher Luis Ortiz in the 1st inning. Corbin Carroll kicked things off with a little league home run, ripping a triple down the line and scoring on a throwing error.

Then, the fireworks began. Ketel Marte launched a 420-foot homer, Joc Pederson followed with a 430-foot shot, and Bell kept the momentum going with his own towering blast.

The Diamondbacks put up five runs in the 1st inning.

Reactions on social media were priceless, as fans were left in awe of Arizona’s first-inning offensive explosion.

Josh Bell is now riding an eight-game hitting streak, with five home runs in his last six games.
