On X (formerly Twitter), Jackson (Miss.) Preparatory School third baseman and right-handed pitcher Tre’ Bryant has committed to Arizona State after his mom Melissa posted two pictures of him wearing Sun Devils attire and he responded with, “Forks Up!”

From Brandon, MS., he is part of a family with six other siblings and his father is Matt Bryant who is a retired placekicker in the NFL. Matt played for the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants across 18 seasons before he hung up the cleats in 2019 at age 44.

Though he is listed as both a pitcher and third baseman, Tre’ can slot in at shortstop and as a utility. He stands at 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds.

Last season for the Patriots, Bryant batted .383 with 44 hits, 55 RBIs and three home runs in 43 games during his junior year, according to MaxPreps. On the mound, Bryant made 13 pitching appearances, posting a 2-0 record with three saves, 24 strikeouts and a 1.31 ERA.

He will be entering his senior year of high school this upcoming season before he joins the Sun Devils afterward. Bryant is set to graduate in 2025.

ASU lost relievers Hunter Omlid and Ryan Schiefer who were both selected in the 2024 MLB Draft while starter Thomas Burns transferred to Texas. Shortstop Steven Ondina signed as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Orioles.
