Benson, drafted No. 66 overall out of Florida State, becomes the final of the Cardinals’ 12 draft picks to ink his rookie deal.

Every other player had signed prior to the end of the Cardinals’ offseason work. With training camp approaching on Tuesday, Benson finally got his deal signed.

“I haven’t been anxious,” Benson said via azcardinals.com. “I knew it was going to happen at one point. I just kept my head down and continued to work.”

During his senior year at FSU, Benson rushed for 906 yards and scored 14 touchdowns, averaging 5.8 yards per carry. At the combine, the two-time Second-Team All-ACC player clocked a 4.39 40-yard dash. Notably, Benson did not fumble once in his college career, spanning 316 attempts.

His standout performance came against Virginia Tech, where he ran for 200 yards on 11 carries and scored two touchdowns.

Benson will compete for playing time behind starting running back James Conner with Michael Carter, DeeJay Dallas and Emari Demercado.

The last rookie to sign before Benson was fourth-round safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson back on May 30.
