With both Brittney Griner (personal) and Rebecca Allen (lower back) listed as questionable heading into the Phoenix Mercury’s matchup against the Dallas Wings, there is a chance that they could play tonight.

During the pregame press conference with Mercury head coach Nate Tibbetts, he updated the media that both players will be game-time decisions and will give it a go with taking part in warmups.

“Both of them are questionable, they are going to be game-time decisions,” Tibbetts said. “They are going to try to warm up and see how they feel.”

After missing the first 10 games of the season with a toe fracture to her left foot, Griner may be out once again. The 6-foot-9 WNBA-All Star has played nine games and averaged 20.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists, leading to a 4-1 stretch in her first five games back.

In the recent back-to-back slate of games for the Mercury where she was originally listed as questionable for both, Allen did play against the Indiana Fever last Sunday but was out vs. the Connecticut Sun on Monday. Since signing with Phoenix in the offseason, the Australian has been in concussion protocol, suffered a hip injury during the preseason and sustained a back injury one game into the regular season before this latest news.

Allen has missed six games this season which prompted Sophie Cunningham to fill for her in the starting lineup. When Griner was out for an extended period of time, Natasha Mack started and Liz Dixon backed her up. According to the WNBA transactions page, however, Dixon was waived by Phoenix on Tuesday.
