After missing the first two and a half months of the season with a torn meniscus, Geraldo Perdomo made an immediate impact upon his return to the diamond on Tuesday as Arizona faced the Angels.

But, beyond his statistical contributions, Perdomo brought a renewed energy to the Diamondbacks’ dugout, which Jordan Montgomery, a relatively new teammate, described perfectly.
Following the D-backs’ win over the Angels, Montgomery remarked, “Having Domo back was really good. Just good to be out there and be with him. He’s just such a great guy, cheering for me… He talks to me in between every inning like ‘just keep going,’ and I don’t know, it’s nice.”

Montgomery started on the mound for Arizona during this victory. While he did not finish with a “quality start” as he lasted just five innings, Montgomery delivered one of his better home outings this season, allowing only three earned runs and keeping the Diamondbacks within striking distance for the win.
Before taking the field for the first time in over two months, Perdomo expressed his deep love for the game, declaring, “This is my life. This is my girlfriend, my wife, and everything.”
