Aldridge is now the second player to look at other colleges elsewhere after the Sun Devils secured five-star recruit Joson Sanon on May 29. Sammie Yeanay, a four-star prospect from Chandler, de-committed from ASU last Thursday but he is still considering the school as an option.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Aldridge played last season in the Overtime Elite League, an alternative, high-level basketball league for 16 to 20-year-olds. For the Diamond Doves, the Phoenix native averaged 16.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game last year.
Originally committing to ASU and signing his NLI in November, he will weigh his options on where he’ll play in college. In the past, he received offers from Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Marshall, Eastern Kentucky, Bryant and others.
247Sports rates Aldridge as a three-star recruit, the No. 224 player in the class of 2024 and No. 20 in Arizona. Time will tell where he will end up next season, but the school that receives his commitment will get a player with a massive amount of upside.
The recruitment from Sun Devils head coach Bobby Hurley and his staff has rejuvenated hope that Tempe can build upon a 14-18 finish from last season.
ASU is fourth on 247Sports‘ top recruiting classes of this year. The additions of five-star prospects Sanon and Jayden Quainatance have seen the Sun Devils behind only Duke, Alabama and Rutgers.
