Nothing was going to be easy against the New Orleans Pelicans for Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker, as he entered this afternoon’s matchup having scored 50-plus points in three straight games against New Orleans.

Zion Williamson drew an offensive foul on Booker off the ball, and then Dyson Daniels gave Booker a light push. Booker responded with a shove of his own, and Jose Alvarado stepped in to confront Booker. Drew Eubanks came to Booker’s defense and move Alvarado, and then a big scuffle ensued.

In the end, this strategy proved to pay dividends, as the Pelicans (46-32) won 113-105, their first win against Phoenix (46-32) this season. Booker finished with 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting, seven assists and four turnovers.
The Suns and Pelicans are now tied for the sixth seed in the Western Conference, but the Suns own the head-to-head tiebreaker with four games left.
