The Pumas came out on top in penalty kicks 4-2 after being tied at zero.
Perry can now be recognized as the state’s top boys soccer program for a second year in a row. Led by head coach Jason Berg, this is officially the team to beat in the state going forward.
Senior Tyler Haren converted on the team’s final penalty, securing the 6A title for them.

They have now won two straight 6A Championships, after not possessing a single one before 2923.
Sidewinders fall short again
Despite yet another undefeated season ruined by the championship game, San Luis was simply not able to finish strong.
The Sidewinders continued to play elite defensively but could not get the offense to take the lead against Perry.
While losing three state championship games in four seasons is tough to deal with, San Luis has proven to be one of the most dangerous teams in the state and will not be going anywhere.
