The Toros (12-16) ended regular-season play by losing seven of their last nine games.
Despite the struggles, Mountain View defeated West Point and Queen Creek to advance to the second round of the bracket.
They have not been able to score at the rate of elite teams but have proven to be able to lock up defensively. Through 28 games played, the Toros are both allowing and scoring just over 51 points per game.
Tough matchup
Mountain View will now face No. 1 seeded Boulder Creek during Round One of the 6A Playoffs.
The Jaguars (17-10) were upset in the first round of the Open State Playoffs. They will now attempt to put that behind them and make a 6A Championship run.
This will be a difficult task for the Toros but one that they are more than prepared for with head coach Andrew Johnson at the helm.
