Highland defeat Red Mountain, advance to 6A quarterfinals

The Highland Hawks boys basketball team has secured a spot in the 6A quarterfinals after defeating the Red Mountain Mountain Lions 48-43.

Highland pulled out a tough victory against Sandra Day O’Connor to begin the Open State Playoffs. However, they were then dominated by Notre Dame Prep during the second round.

Highland’s chance to repeat

During Round Two of the 6A bracket, Highland put together a 48-43 victory against the Mountain Lions (15-13).

The Hawks (20-7) are defending 6A Champions and have an opportunity to repeat this season.

They are set for a rematch with Sandra Day O’Connor on Friday, Feb. 23 @ 7 p.m. MST. The winner will secure a spot in the semifinal and be one step closer to a championship.
