While he did admit that “we may run out of time” and that “there are other opportunities available,” Kendrick emphasized his commitment to enhancing Chase Field while the Diamondbacks remain there.

The Diamondbacks owner noted, “There are other cities that would covet having major league baseball. It’s not like I’m speaking out of school to say that, and those names are prominent cities that would love to have a major league team.”

Followed by, “They would be happy with a brand-new franchise; they would certainly be very happy with, frankly, a successful existing franchise. It’s not where we are spending time or energy. We may run out of time in Phoenix; we hope that won’t happen.”

Already, Chase Field has seen upgrades such as new speakers flanking the jumbotron and the installation of LED lights.

Ken Kendrick, an 80-year-old billionaire, has been the Diamondbacks’ managing general partner since 2004. He was also a part-owner during the D-backs inception.

Despite fans’ notable upset over his comments regarding the potential relocation of the Diamondbacks, especially in light of their recent season, Kendrick remained persistent in his goal to improve the surroundings of Chase Field.
