Devin Booker provides a release date for his Nike Book 1

It has been quite a lengthy process, but Devin Booker’s highly anticipated Book 1 shoes will officially be available on February 17th during NBA All-Star Weekend.

These shoes were initially shown off by Drake during a concert in Arizona last September. Since then, Booker has teased fans by repping them a couple of times.

Regrettably, the shoe rollout did not unfold as smoothly as anticipated. The initial launch, held at Art Basel in Miami, Florida, featured a limited supply of just 500 pairs. Due to the scarce availability, the shoes were exclusively accessible to prominent figures like Kevin Durant, DJ Khaled, and P.J. Tucker.

Fans were quick to point out that not launching the news in Phoenix was a massive missed opportunity. Overall, there has been plenty of criticism about the launch, leading to Booker responding to a post on Instagram.

In a post by Complex Sneakers that included a graphic questioning if Nike fumbled the D Book 1 launch, Booker responded, “A lot of people feel the same way.”

This comment led Shaquille O’Neal, who is president of Reebok Basketball, to invite Booker to collaborate.

On Instagram, Shaq stated, “I know y’all aren’t happy with the sneaker launch.  You should come with Reebok. We just getting started. Hit me.”

Which, to end the saga, at least for now, prompted Booker to post on his IG story, “When complex creates a fake narrative about you and now Shaq is recruiting you to Reebok.”
