Phoenix Suns’ big man Jusuf Nurkić was a little bit excited after his team snapped a five-game losing streak to the Los Angeles Lakers with a much-needed 127-109 victory.

Nurkić, who was benched in the second half during the Suns’ blowout loss to the Los Angeles Clippers Monday, came out much better defensively against the Lakers. Anthony Davis, his primary matchup, only had 13 points and five rebounds. Davis was coming off a 41-point, 11-rebound performance Tuesday. Before the loss, he was averaging 25 points and 12.7 rebounds against Phoenix this season.

“For the most part Nurk matched AD’s minutes and battled him the best he could one-on-one,” coach Frank Vogel said postgame.

Nurkić finished the night with nine points and 12 rebounds. The Suns were led by Bradley Beal, who posted a season-high 37 points and shot 8-of-10 from three.

Phoenix entered tonight on a two-game losing streak and a lot of doubters, as they had gone 2-4 in games where all of the Big 3 play.

As Suns fans have become accustomed to, Nurkić did a little bit of trolling on X after the game in relation to some of these remarks.

First of all, he responded to Charles Barkley’s comments about the Suns before the game. Barkley said his Suns were in trouble because they have no leadership and no toughness.

Then, Nurkić went all the way back to something that Fox Sports’ Nick Wright said during the preseason.

“Let me be very clear, I think if you’re trying to win a championship, I would rather have as my third guy Austin Reaves and the things he does, than Bradley Beal, if my top two guys are those guys,” Wright said on his show, “First Things First,” on Oct. 18.

Reaves ended tonight with 13 points and six assists. Beal had a nasty move on Reaves in the third quarter to get a bucket.

Nurkić posted a gif calling Wright “Nick Wrong.”

Will the Suns be able to sustain the momentum and high spirits from tonight? They next play the Portland Trail Blazers (10-27), who just lost by 62 points to the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight, on Sunday.
