In case you missed it, Raptors head coach Darko Rajaković went on an all-time great rant after his team fell to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Rajaković expressed particular frustration with the free throw disparity in the 4th quarter. The Raptors only took 2 free throws compared to the Lakers’ whopping 23 attempts. Interestingly, Toronto ranks 3rd best in the NBA for opponents’ free throws per game, with an average of 19.9.
Former Rajaković-coached player Kevin Durant, along with Suns head coach Frank Vogel and Devin Booker, all had noteworthy responses to the impassioned rant. Although they admitted to not watching the game and refrained from commenting on the fairness of Rajaković’s points, they acknowledged and respected the displayed passion.
Both Durant and Booker emphasized that any player values a coach who staunchly defends them. In an era where complaining about calls usually leads to fines, such extensive rants about officials are quite rare.
Frank Vogel, having spent the last three seasons in Los Angeles and contributing to the Lakers’ 2020 NBA Finals victory, took a similar supportive stance. Vogel commended Rajaković for being there for his players stating, “Good for him for standing up for his team.”
