Led by Grayson Allen, who had 23 points going into halftime on 7 made three-pointers, the Suns started strong with a 7-point lead heading into the 3rd quarter.

Then, in the 2nd half, it was the defense that allowed them to pull away. At one point, Phoenix held the Heat to a streak of 15 missed three-pointers in a row. They went 1-10 in the 3rd quarter, and then followed this by starting the 4th quarter 0-6 from deep.

The Suns also forced Miami into turning the ball over 15 times.

This comes just two nights after the Suns allowed the Clippers to light up Footprint Center with 131 points.

Without Kevin Durant and Eric Gordon available due to injuries, Bradley Beal proved exactly why the Suns were so persistent in bringing him to the Valley. Phoenix held a +23 advantage in minutes when Beal was on the court. He finished with 25 points, along with 9 assists and 8 rebounds.

But it was mostly the night of Grayson Allen. To continue his 10+ point streak to 12 games, Allen exploded for 32 points while tying the Suns’ franchise record with 9 made three-pointers.

As a team, Phoenix shot at a 42% rate from beyond the arc.

The Suns will finish up their six-game homestand against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. Phoenix has won 5 of their last 6 games, improving their record to 19-16.
