How Cardinals WR Greg Dortch can play major role vs. Steelers

Due to the Arizona Cardinals’ wide receiver core currently plagued by injuries or other situations, WR Greg Dortch is primed to be an X-factor tomorrow against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Currently, Zach Pascal (NIR-personal) Michael Wilson (shoulder) are both out while Marquise Brown is questionable for Arizona vs. Pittsburgh.

As a result, uncertainty looms around which offensive weapons Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray will search for and target.

However, that search may not take long as WR Greg Dortch will be readily available at Murray’s disposal.

Since Arizona tight end Trey McBride has continuously been in the spotlight, Dortch can go under the radar.

Speed, strength and versatility are all traits that Dortch possesses and utilizes every time he is on the gridiron.

Even though he only started in one game this season out of 11, Dortch has impressed when called upon by Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon.

Additionally, Dortch has amassed 10 receptions for 105 yards and scored a touchdown this season.

Last week, he stiff armed Los Angeles Rams cornerback Tre Tomlinson in the end zone before making a one-handed catch for a 6-yard TD.

Despite him falling down the Cardinals’ receiving pecking order behind Brown, Pascal, Wilson and Rondale Moore, let’s not forget what Dortch did in 2022 and what he can do.

A season ago, Dortch started in 4-of-16 games, gathered 467 yards from 52 catches and collected two touchdowns.

If the injury to Brown keeps him out, expect Dortch to have an expanded role and make a statement against Pittsburgh.

Tomorrow’s clash between the Cardinals (2-10) and Steelers (7-4) kicks off at Acrisure Stadium at 11 a.m. MST.
