It took one day after being cut to find a new team. The Raiders, led now by Jones’ High School Coach and Assistant Coach at Arizona State, Antonio Pierce, signed Jones to their team.

Pierce, who coached Jones at Long Beach Poly before going, is now the interim head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders after the firing of Josh McDaniels. He has completely turned that locker room around. He has now coached Jones at every level of football.

Jones’s career was ravaged by injuries and trouble. This started with a torn ACL he suffered in the middle of a very promising rookie year. He finished with two interceptions in 13 games. The cornerback was arrested in June in Boston for trying to bring guns onto a plane. The chargers were dropped, but it wasn’t a great loof for Jones. Jones suffered a hamstring injury before the first game of the 2023 season. He finally came back to football in late October. However, before a week nine game versus the Commanders, Jones missed a curfew and was benched. He only played ten snaps the next week before being cut.

It is very obvious Jones just needed a change of scenery. With his former coach now at the helm of the Raiders, he should get back to producing on the field like we saw at ASU.
