Spurs Dominate Suns In First Quarter, San Antonio Led Suns, 39-20

The (2-2) Phoenix Suns were home for the second straight game against the (2-2) San Antonio Spurs. In the first match-up between these two teams the Spurs won, 115-114, after overcoming a double digit deficit in the fourth quarter. Bradley Beal and Devin Booker were not available in that game. Booker was available for this one.

First Quarter

The Spurs carried their momentum over from the fourth quarter of the previous game. The Spurs started the game on a 13-0 run.

The Suns’ offense would finally wake up at the eight minute mark of the quarter as Kevin Durant made a pull-up jumper.

After that Durant jumper broke the slump, the Suns offense would get going but San Antonio also continued to score. The Spurs were up 23-13 with 4:06 left in the quarter. San Antonio would continue to play well and expand their lead to 31-16 with 2:27 left in the quarter.

The Spurs would continue to play well and end the quarter with a lead of 39-20.

Kevin Durant had more than half of the Suns points with 11 in the first quarter.

The Spurs leading scorer was Devin Vassell who also had 11 points.The Spurs were the ones coming in hot in that first quarter as they shot 60% from the floor and 8/13 from three.
