The date and opponent has been set. The last step is securing the location and venue. This fight between Benavidez and Demetrius Andrade will be for the WBC Interim Super Middleweight title. The winner will be the mandatory challenger for the winner of the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez versus Jermell Charlo fight. There is a lot on the line in this match-up. The winner would be in line for the biggest payday of their career and have a chance to become an undisputed champion.

The combined record of his last five opponents is 113-10-3. Andrade has also not really been challenged in those fights. He has been calling out Canelo Alvarez for a long time. A win over Benavidez would put him in the perfect position to finally get that fight. That’s if Alvarez defeats Charlo.
