Kenny Dillingham on Calling Plays Today in Practice: “Offensively We Need A Little Bit of a Boost”

Kenny Dillingham talked with reporters after practice today and a lot of questions came up specifically with the topic of him calling offensive plays.

The reason why Dillingham elected to take over play-calling responsibilities was to create a sense of urgency for his team which is struggling mildly to put points up on the board.

Dillingham said that the plan is for this trend to continue all the way into the game as well which would be the first time we see ASU’s offense being run by Dillingham this season.

The last two games have not looked great for the Sun Devils on offense. They have failed to score a point in the last 6 quarters as well and they only have 3 points scored in the second half of games for the entire season.

This year, ASU is averaging 13 PPG which is last in the Pac-12, and averaging 293 total yards per game which is ranked last in the Pac-12.

Compared to their competition USC, they’re averaging 59 PPG which is not only first in the Pac-12 but first in the Nation. They’re also 3rd in the Pac-12 in total yards at 581.

It will be interesting to see what happens on Saturday with Dillingham looking to take over the reins this weekend. Even if it might not result in a victory, we shall see if this could be a trend in the right direction for ASU football’s future.
